Confidential San Diego Biotech Start-up
G|M Business Interiors created an elevated workplace environment for a Confidential San Diego biotech company.
A San Diego biotech start-up came to G|M Business Interiors when they were looking to create a welcoming office environment that would best support their rapidly growing organization. G|M worked closely with McFarlane Architects and general contractor JB Pacific to get the job done.
This two-floor project consists of 74 workstations, 11 private offices, and five conference rooms. G|M drew inspiration from the company's branding by incorporating hues of blue along with natural wood finishes. Each workstation and private office has a height-adjustable desk, monitor arms, desktop power, and ergonomic task seating.
G|M kept workstation panels low to create an open office environment but added on frosted glass screens for additional privacy. Framery booths are also utilized to provide employees with a private environment for phone calls and meetings. This project features a variety of products from Herman Miller, Elevate, Via, OFS, National, Encore, and others. G|M Account Executive, Kandice Judson, led the efforts on this project.
"As a startup company, [they] wanted a space that felt sophisticated and not like something that was smashed together," said Judson. "It was important for them to create an elevated experience of first impressions by employees, guests, and stakeholders, and we were able to successfully achieve this."
This biotech company was founded in 2020. They are working hard to develop a protein degradation platform to enable novel drug development for hard-to-treat ailments, including cancers. Their new office will allow them to fulfill their mission of helping people to heal and thrive.
