Cal State University Long Beach - Enrollment Services Department
G|M Business Interiors helped California State University Long Beach create a lively and energetic space for their Beach Central "One-Stop" Enrollment Services Department.
G|M partnered with Cuningham Group to provide CSULB with a fresh, bright, and modern Enrollment Services Department consisting of their Office of Admissions, Financial Aid, and Student Records teams. The new department called, "Beach Central 'One Stop,'" is meant to help make the business of being a student easier by assisting them with questions regarding admission, registration, or tuition funding options.
The project was completed over two years and includes 80 workstations, 20 glass-enclosed private offices, five meeting spaces, lounge areas, and eight collaborative areas. The project was led by G|M Account Executive Theresa Cummins, who took the customer to the Los Angeles Herman Miller showroom for some product and workplace design inspiration. A mixture of Herman Miller, Arcadia, and SitonIt products can be seen throughout the space
“The wood gallery panels and exposed brick wall added a beautiful touch of warmth to the space,” said Cummins, referring to the wood galley panels on the Herman Miller Ethospace workstations.
Throughout the department, various colors, textures, and patterns were combined to create a fun and inspired space that allowed staff members and students to be creative and collaborate with one another. They wanted the space to be comfortable and fun for the students, and professional and playful for the staff, and G|M was able to help them achieve this.
