UCSD Health - UTC Express Clinic
G|M Business Interiors and DIV13 created a sleek, modern and inviting environment for UCSD's new UTC Express Health Clinic.
G|M Business Interiors collaborated with DIRTT partner DIV13, architecture firm RBN Design and general contractor Burger Construction to create a more modern healthcare environment for UCSD Health's new Express Clinic in the UTC neighborhood of San Diego.
The project features healthcare casework, a variety of guest, exam, and waiting room seating options, ergonomic height-adjustable workstations, several storage solutions, training rooms, and a breakroom. Soft and neutral color palettes and shapes were used in the design of this project, taking inspiration from the local natural environment.
Furniture in this project prominently includes Herman Miller, Elevate, SitOnIt, Hat Contract, Weiland, National, Erg, and many others. Herman Miller's Mora System was specifically used due to its versatile and elegant aesthetic, and its intuitive storage solutions.
Kyra Vrabel was the Project Manager on this project. Vrabel commented, "This was one of the smoothest installations I have done. Everything was on time and it was a perfect example of modular casework installation. Everything was made-to-order and it was extremely efficient."
The new healthcare clinic is meant to offer a walk-in option for coughs, colds, sore throats, ear infections, simple fractures or sprains, and other minor health care needs.
